Turn TIFF files into a PDF

or drop them here
Choose at least one JPG or PNG image first.

Turn single or multi-page TIFF scans into one PDF that opens anywhere, without uploading them. Every frame is decoded in this browser tab, listed as its own page row, and stored as a JPEG page. The finished file is reopened and measured before the download appears.

Scan stack in, one PDF out

  1. Choose the TIFF files

Press Choose images, or drag .tif or .tiff files onto the page. Every frame opens in this tab and lines up under Image order, each labeled TIFF page X of Y with its pixel size.

  2. Fix the order and drop duds

Move rows up or down with the arrow buttons and remove botched frames with the × button. What remains, in that order, is the PDF.

  3. Pick size and margins

Match image keeps each frame at the scanner's own shape and resolution; A4 and US Letter fit every frame on standard paper. Add None, Narrow, or Standard margins. A 300 DPI scan keeps its real paper size when the TIFF records it.

  4. Create and download

Press Create PDF. The file is reopened, pages counted and measured, decoded dimensions confirmed. Download PDF appears named after the first file with -tiff added, for example contract-scan-tiff.pdf.

Every frame becomes a page

A multi-page TIFF looks like one file and behaves like a stack: phones and many viewers show the first frame and hide the rest. This page decodes every readable frame, applies its orientation, flattens transparency onto white, and stores it as JPEG at quality 90. Decoded width and height survive; the original TIFF compression does not.

A TIFF that stores its scanner resolution sizes Match image pages from it, so a 300 DPI letter scan lands at letter size instead of a wall-sized sheet. On A4 or US Letter the frames fit standard sheets either way.

The trade shows in file size: a black and white fax page grows heavier as JPEG, while a photographic scan usually slims down. Before Download PDF appears, the reopen check confirms page count, page sizes, and decoded dimensions. Heavy sets slim down afterwards with Size breakdown and Compress PDF; PDF to TIFF travels the opposite direction for systems that accept nothing else.

The fax that arrived as a locked stack

Monday morning, the solicitor's office needs the signed lease, and the fax gateway delivered it as lease-signed.tif: six frames in one file. Your phone shows page one and no way forward, and the solicitor's portal takes PDF only. The paper original is already back in the client's drawer across town.

Drop the TIFF here and six rows appear, labeled TIFF page 1 of 6 through 6 of 6. Frame 4 is a blank misfeed, so remove it with the × button; the rest stay in order. Choose A4 with Narrow margins for a file the solicitor prints and files. Press Create PDF and lease-signed-tiff.pdf is ready: five pages, ordered, checked.

One upload and the matter is closed. To staple the lease to the inventory PDF, join them with Merge PDF; to cut or reorder pages later, use Organize pages.

When a scan stack misbehaves

When a different route fits better

When the recipient can open TIFF and needs the untouched archive, send the TIFF. This conversion trades original compression for readable pages, which suits sharing, not preservation.

When the scan must shrink to an exact cap, build here first, then squeeze with Compress PDF to the number the form demands.

Questions about scans in a PDF

Do I get one PDF or one file per frame?
One PDF. Every frame becomes a page row, and all rows build into a single ordered file.
Why does a fax page grow bigger?
Fax compression is tuned for black and white text and beats JPEG at that game. Storing the page as JPEG at quality 90 costs more bytes; photographic scans go the other way.
Does it read BigTIFF?
No. BigTIFF uses a different 64-bit container and is turned away with an explanation. Plain standard TIFF, version 42, is what opens here.
Can I mix TIFF with JPG in one run?
No, this page reads TIFF only. Convert each pile on its own page and join the results with Merge PDF.
Will a 300 DPI scan print at real size?
On Match image, yes, when the TIFF records its resolution: the page is sized from it. On A4 or Letter the frame fits the sheet either way.

Tools for the finished scan

Each tool below runs in the browser, verifies its own result, and asks for no account. Continue with whichever step your scan needs.
