Turn a PDF into JPG images
Converting your PDF to JPG
JPG images ready
Image text is not selectable. Your source PDF was not changed.
Details
Email, chat, and upload forms all welcome JPG and many refuse PDF. This page draws your chosen pages as compact JPG pictures at 96, 150, or 300 DPI, reopens each one to confirm its dimensions, and delivers a single file or a ZIP of many. The document never leaves your device.
The rental application that only took photos
When the portal lists JPG, PNG, or nothing at all, stop arguing with the uploader. Send pictures.
A tenant applies for a flat through a portal whose document step accepts image files only. Her application-pack.pdf holds five pages: ID, two payslips, and two references. She opens it here, picks 150 DPI, keeps All pages, and presses Convert to JPG.
The ZIP holds page-001.jpg through page-005.jpg, each reopened and dimension-checked before release. The uploads pass, the personal papers never left her laptop, and the agent reads every figure.
Four passes from PDF to JPG
-
Open the PDF
Press Choose a PDF, or drop the file on the page. It opens and reads entirely on your device.
-
Pick resolution and pages
Choose 96, 150, or 300 DPI, then All pages or Choose pages with entries such as 1, 3-5. The format stays JPG throughout; there is nothing else to pick.
-
Convert the pages
Press Convert to JPG. Each chosen page draws on a white sheet at the requested size, and progress names the page being drawn.
-
Check and download
Every JPG is reopened and its dimensions matched against the page at the requested DPI. One picture downloads under the source name; two or more arrive in a ZIP of page-001 onward files.
Picking a DPI for light pictures
Resolution sets weight and clarity together. A US Letter page draws about 1,275 by 1,650 pixels at the 150 default, the sweet spot for sharing, slides, and portals. Drop to 96 for thumbnails and chat previews, or climb to 300 when fine print must survive zooming. Every picture saves at a fixed 82 percent quality, tuned for photos and scans rather than dials.
JPG earns its size by discarding what eyes skip: smooth gradients and photo grain compress beautifully. Hard text edges pay for it with faint halos, which is why type-heavy pages belong to PDF to PNG instead. The combined PDF to images tool lets each job pick its side.
Page choice needs no learning. All pages converts the document front to back, while Choose pages takes singles and ranges such as 1, 3-5, drops duplicates, and still exports in document order. Backwards ranges and out-of-range numbers are rejected with the valid span named, so a mistyped entry never silently reshapes the set.
Where JPG shows its seams
Small type on busy backgrounds is the classic casualty: at 96 DPI with lossy compression, fine print fuzzes past reading. Answer with 150 or 300, or switch to PNG when the page is mostly words. Upscaling a low-resolution scan buys nothing either; the pixels multiply while the detail stays put.
Pictures are also final. No text stays selectable, no link keeps working, and every render lands on white. Poster sheets can additionally trip the 40-million-pixel ceiling with the page number named; a lower DPI completes the run.
When a portal caps each upload, treat the first export as a fitting: convert at 150, weigh the download, and step down to 96 only for the pages that overflow. The source PDF sits untouched through every attempt, so fitting rounds cost nothing but a minute.
When JPG is the wrong picture
Text, charts, and diagrams keep sharp edges in PDF to PNG. One multi-page records file comes from PDF to TIFF. Untouched originals stored inside the PDF come out through Extract images, and selectable words through PDF to Markdown.
Why personal papers stay on your device
IDs, payslips, and medical letters should not tour a stranger server to become pictures. Drawing, checking, and packing all happen where the PDF already sits, with no account and no watermark on the images.
The reopen pass guards the handoff: each JPG is decoded again and its dimensions matched against the page at the requested DPI. A mismatch withholds the file rather than shipping a broken picture to the portal. The source PDF itself is never altered by the run.
Short answers about PDF to JPG
- Can I raise the JPG quality?
- No. There is no quality dial; every picture saves at the same fixed setting, tuned for photos and scans. For exact pixels, use PNG instead.
- Why do letters look fuzzy at 96 DPI?
- Few pixels plus lossy compression punish small type first. Step up to 150 or 300, or switch to PNG when the page is mostly words.
- The portal wants each file under 2 MB. How?
- Start at 150 DPI and weigh the download; drop to 96 if it still overflows. Exact sizes vary by page, so export, check, and adjust.
- Why did page 3 fail while others passed?
- That sheet tops 40 million pixels at the chosen resolution. The cap names the page, so lower the DPI and run the set again.
- I converted one page but expected a ZIP. Why solo?
- Single pictures always download alone under the source name. Only two or more pages pack a ZIP.
- Can I switch to PNG on this page?
- No. This page locks the format to JPG so sharing stays light. For PNG output or per-job switching, use PDF to images instead.
