Delete PDF pages

or drop one here
Choose a PDF file first.

Tick the pages you want gone and press Remove pages. Marked pages stay visible with a Will be removed label until the run, so the plan is always in front of you. The remaining pages are written into one new PDF, reopened and checked, while the original stays exactly where it is.

Removing pages without surprises

  1. Open the file

Press Choose a PDF, or drag the file onto the page. The browser reads it and draws every page as a thumbnail under the Pages to remove heading. Nothing is uploaded at any point.

  2. Mark pages for removal

Tick each page you want gone and its label flips from Remove this page to Will be removed. Mark all and Clear marks handle the whole grid at once, and Undo, Redo and Clear all marks revise the plan before anything runs.

  3. Review what stays

The status line states the plan in plain numbers: the removal count first, the survivor count second. Marked tiles stay visible and marked, and at least one page must stay unmarked, because a PDF cannot be empty.

  4. Press Remove pages and download

The run button counts your marks, reading Remove 6 pages for six marks. The kept pages are copied into one new PDF, which is reopened and read back against its sources. Press Download PDF to save the file, named after the source with -pages-removed added.

Removing pages here is free and needs no account. The page loads over the web and then does the whole job locally, so your document never travels anywhere.

A quote that must lose its internal appendix

A sales rep is about to send quote-acme-q3.pdf to a client: 22 pages, of which the last six hold the internal cost breakdown that must never leave the company. The client gets pages 1 to 16; pages 17 to 22 stay inside. The file on disk must keep all 22, so the trimmed copy has to be a new file.

Six ticks mark pages 17 to 22, each flipping to Will be removed, and the status line confirms 6 pages will be removed and 16 will remain. The run button reads Remove 6 pages. The download arrives as quote-acme-q3-pages-removed.pdf while the original keeps its 22 pages untouched. Page numbers printed in the footers stay as they were, so the client sees pages numbered 1 to 16 with no gap to explain.

One warning before you press: if the document carries a digital signature, removing any page breaks it, because the seal is computed over the whole file. Keep the signed original and send the trimmed copy beside it, never instead of it.

Removals people regret

Marking the pages to keep. The instinct from other tools is to select what you want; here a tick means removal. If you marked sixteen keepers instead of six discards, press Clear all marks and start over, or Undo back to the empty plan.

Removing the wrong twin. Two near-identical pages, such as a draft and its revision, are easy to confuse at thumbnail size. Open the file in a reader beside the browser and compare the details before you tick, because the tool removes exactly what you marked.

Expecting printed numbers to shift. A page number in a footer is ink on that page, not a live counter. Removing page 5 leaves a document numbered 1 to 4, then 6 onward. If the gap matters, renumber with Stamp PDF after the removal.

Trimming the only copy. No harm done: the original file on your disk is never touched, so the trimmed download is a copy and the full document still sits where it was. Re-run with different marks any time.

Hunting blanks one by one. Nothing here detects empty pages for you; every blank is picked by eye from the thumbnails. The blank-pages page explains why that is deliberate, and which scanner setting stops the blanks at the source.

When removal is the wrong tool

Removal deletes whole pages. If the sensitive paragraph shares its page with content you must keep, deleting the page loses both; black out the paragraph instead with Redact PDF, which destroys the marked content rather than detaching the sheet. If the pages you want are the few rather than the many, approach from the other side with Extract PDF pages and keep the selection.

What remains keeps its order here. To rearrange the survivors, take the trimmed file to Organize pages. To shrink it for sending, run it through Compress PDF with the size the mailbox allows. And a file whose password nobody knows cannot be trimmed anywhere until the sender shares it or an unlocked copy.

Short answers about removing pages

Can I remove all pages but one?
Yes. Mark every page except one and the result holds that single survivor. Marking the last one too is refused, because a PDF cannot be empty.
Do printed page numbers shift after a removal?
No. A number in a header or footer is printed ink on its page, not a counter the tool rewrites. The survivors keep the numbers they had, gaps included.
Is my original file changed?
No. The tool builds a new file from the kept pages and leaves the file on your disk exactly as it was. Re-run with different marks any time.
The button says Remove 6 pages. Where does the count come from?
From your marks. The button mirrors the status line, which pairs the removal count with the survivor count. Change the marks and the count follows.
Can the tool find blank pages for me?
No. Every blank is picked by eye from the thumbnails, because a detector would eventually discard a page carrying a faint stamp or header. The blank-pages page covers that job.
I removed pages from a signed contract. Is the signature still valid?
No. The seal is computed over the whole file, so any removal breaks it. Keep the signed original and send the trimmed copy beside it, never instead of it.
